| Waiting to board |
Today was a bitter sweet day. Bitter in the way that I had to say goodbye to my friends and family for the next 6 weeks which was a big thing for my Mum knowing her little girl is all grown up and leaving home but in a sense it was sweet and a momentous occasion as I will be jetting off to see the other side of the world!
Whilst waiting at Sydney airport to board my plane to Hong Kong, a flood of emotions hit me and I had a little teary moment knowing that this trip was something I have dreamt of doing for a while a now and the time was now, no work, no daily routines just me on a long holiday jet-setting out to see the world in a new perspective and learning how I cope in new environments.
***

I landed in Hong Kong after a 9 hour flight and checked into the Plaza Premium lounge for a shower (I have never been so excited to have a shower in my life) and eat some food.
After my three hour stop over I boarded the next leg of my trip, a 12 hour flight to London. It wasn't as bad as I thought because it was a night flight and the cabin lights were turned off so I was able to rest my eyes.
***
Twelve hours later, with no sleep and running high on adrenaline I finally arrived in London! I was no longer in Australia and it hit me when I heard the English accents of the customs guard. Now I started to sound like the foreigner out of the pack.
I had a blank moment when the man at customs asked me how long I was staying in the UK and I just stared back at him with a blank face saying "umm..." the longer my 'umm-ing' went on the more suspicious he looked and all that was running through my mind was 'oh crap I'm going to end up on those Customs TV shows'.

| The Muse Haus |
I snapped out of it and finally answered the question and was well on my way to Chiswick, an AirBnb home called the Muse Haus where I will be staying for my London trip.
Arriving to Chiswick was meant to be fairly easy but I still got lost as accidentally lost track of my stops and got off several stops too early and then had to backtrack at peak hour with my luggage and a backpack on my back - not ideal.
All in all, I managed to get to the house many thanks to Google maps and the CityMapper app.
The moment I opened the door and walked in, a feeling of relief and comfort hit me - I finally made it to London and was truly on my own to discover the world.
The warmth of the home was welcoming as the heater was on and coming in from the rain and wind outside was comforting.
It definitely had a homey and welcoming feeling as you walked in the door which is the best thing about AirBnb - being able to get a better accommodation experience when travelling as you are staying in a host's home as opposed to staying in a hotel room for half the price.
